Wildlife Safety Response Officer in the South Island Zone Archer Peters

Dear Neighbours,

 

We are pleased to introduce you the new Wildlife Safety Response Officer in the South Island Zone Archer Peters. You can contact him through the RAAP line  1-877-952-7277  or through the online form https://forms.gov.bc.ca/environment/rapp/.

He will be an invaluable resource for our community, assisting in the prevention and mitigation of human-wildlife conflicts, while also providing essential education on wildlife and wildlife safety.

 

Please remember:

·       Garbage is the #1 Bear Attractant

·       Store your garbage in a secure location until the morning of collection

·       Freeze organic waste to prevent smell

·       Feed pets indoors and store pet food in a secure location

·       Do not feed wildlife

It is an offence under the Wildlife Act (section 33.1) to leave any attractant accessible to wildlife.

 

Please remember our community is situated in the middle of the forest. Observing dangerous wildlife in the woods, back country, forested areas or a wildlife interface is NORMAL.
